Compared to the first game of the day, this game was fairly dull by comparison. The first half was a real defensive struggle, which made me want to watch something else. But, it started to pick up in the second half, especially after New Orleans lost one of their corners to yet another concussion, the theme of the day. I was surprised on how good their defense actually was, and equally surprised at how much Foles stunk at home, especially with a +2 turnover advantage. At the end of the day, the team I wanted to win, Philly, did not, but I suspect that New Orleans will not have an easy time in Seattle next week, regardless of what they learned the first time they received a beat down there.
After day one, Matthew Dzuck moves to first place with 87 points. He did have five Philly players, so he took a hit, but this tournament is still in its infancy. A majority of teams had at least two Philly players, so we all believed that the Saints were not going to win their first road playoff game ever tonight. Robby Lee stays in second place with 77 points. He has three Saints on his roster. The winner last year, Adam Nelson, takes third place with 70 points, thanks primarily to the seven Saints on his team. It is easy to see who he is wanting to go to the Super Bowl!
