DEN/SEA Results

That first play from scrimmage was pretty much the story of the game.  Denver messing up and Seattle capitalizing on the mistakes.  I just never thought that Seattle would go on and embarrass Denver as much as they did.  It pretty much made the game a little dull to watch.  If there is one thing that made me smirk, it was T-Jack still showing why he still sucks as a QB with that horrible pass he made late in the fourth quarter.

For the game, Seattle receives five points for winning the Super Bowl.  Since the MVP was on the defense, then the SEA DST gets an extra five points as well.

The winner of the tournament this year is John LeDoux with 482 points.  He had seven Seattle players remaining, so there was little chance that he was giving up first place.  He takes home $100 for winning.Rich Powell comes in second with 462 points.  He also had a solid second-place standing going into the game that made it hard to move him out of that spot.  He will be receiving $28.  Thanks to Wes Welker's two-point conversion, I slip into third place with 455 points.  I will be keeping $14.

NEP/DEN Results

Before this game, it was anyone's game to win or lose.  After watching that first drive by New England, or lack thereof, I knew the game was already over.  When the Pats lost Talib, essentially their best defensive play maker, and the Pats were down ten late in the second quarter, that pretty much confirmed to me that this game was over.  Tom Brady tried to be Tom Brady in the second half, but you can't do much with two average receivers, one of them being your RB.

After the first conference championship game, Rich Powell jumps up to first place with 323 points.  He can thank those late TDs by Brady to get him to that point.  Moving down a notch is Bob Dzuck with 321 points.  He also benefited from having a good number of players from both teams in this game.  Shooting up to third place is Laura Phillip with 310 points.  She is a lifetime Broncos fan who has eight Denver players on her roster, more than any other team.

SDC/DEN Results

For me, Denver winning the game was a foregone conclusion prior to today.  However, San Diego decided to make a game of it and try to repeat their win from earlier in the season.  Denver seemed to be a little off and will really need to get it together if they expect to win against Peyton Manning's nemesis.

After the semi finals, Bob Dzuck jumps up to first place with 237 points, no doubt to all of his Denver players.  He is in good shape with 16 players remaining, with at least three players from each team.  Rich Powell moves up to second place with 235 points.  He has 17 players to go, including eight from Denver. There is a two-way tie for third between Adam Nelson and John LeDoux with 233 points.  Adam is hurting a little with only 11 players remaining.  John has 20 players remaining, primarily heavy with Den, SF, and Sea players.

From what I can tell based on the overall standings, the race is pretty tight.  However, it looks like half of the teams are already out, especially if Denver continues to play.  Blount remains a wild card, and there are a few other sporadic players on teams.  Overall, there is no clear cut winner at this point.

SF/CAR Results

I do not think that anyone in this tournament was going to to much of anything in the playoffs.  They certainly looked a little green than they did blue and silver today against the Niners.  At first, I thought that they were trying to defeat SF by crippling as many players as possible.  Then, I was expecting a Steve Smith-type of game similar to how he killed the Vikes many years ago with the way he was playing early.  However, Smith was hobbled and the Panthers began to look as playoff-unready as they should and home underdogs promptly lost.  I am now excited for the SF/SEA match up next week as that should be as good of a game as anything the AFC will produce.  In my opinion, the two best NFC teams are playing for the title.

After game three, Matthew Dzuck moves back into first place with 205 points.  Unfortunately for him, he only has one Denver player in this next game has three or more Denver players.  Charles Johnson moves down to second place with 196 points.  Charles has the second-lowest amount of Denver players, so his spot in the top three is precarious as well.  Bob Dzuck moves to third place with 194 points.  With his six Denver players and the way they play, he might still be in the top three after this last game of the week.

IND/NEP Results

I had Blount on my team for about ten minutes.  I saw what he did in Week 17, but I tried to outfox the fox, Bill Belichick, in thinking that he was trying to trick other teams into thinking he would utilize a power runner in the playoffs and when they played, they would showcase someone else.  Therefore, I changed my pick and I chose the player who scored the most points this season, their kicker.  That was a huge mistake, a mistake many other teams made.  Those who had Blount on their team have all shot up the standings with his 36 points.  Ugh.  Then, when the holder goes down and apparently, the Pats don't have a backup holder, my points dried up quickly.  Overall, I knew this game was over after the first INT by Luck.  This was not a good game overall and Indy looked as bad as the Saints did in the first game.  I doubt the Pats will be able to run over the Broncos next week.

After game two, Charles Johnson rockets to the top of the standings with 184 points.  No doubt, he had Blount on his team.  He will need Blount to continue his running if he would like to stay in this spot.  Matthew Dzuck moves down one spot to 180 points.  Robby Lee also moves down a notch with 163 points.  It should be noted that Bob Dzuck and Laura Phillip had Blount on their teams as well and made significant moves up the standings.

NOS/SEA Results

As a person rooting for the Seahawks to win this game, the second half was beyond frustrating to watch.  The Seattle offense has not been great the last few weeks of the season and they continued to struggle in the second half today.  Granted Harvin got knocked out and Baldwin looked a little skittish until he caught that key ball late in the game, but someone else should have been able to move the chains outside of Lynch.  If they don't get their offense going outside of Lynch, they are not going to the Super Bowl.  I also have a continued dislike for the Saints, stemming back from that Vikes playoff game.  The fact that they were still in that game until the very end bugged me.  Luckily, Colston forgot the rules or forgot that he was not a QB and ended a heart beater!

After this first semi final game, Matthew Dzuck moves back into first place with 173 points.  He is leading by 17 points, but he lost three more players.  Robby Lee moves back down to second place with 156 points.  He lost three players as well.  In third place is Adam Nelson with 148 points, but must have banked on the Saints to get to the Super Bowl since he had seven New Orleans players on his roster.

SF/GBP Results

This was the game that I was waiting for based on many factors.  It did not disappoint at all.  The elements, the playoff history between the two teams, the emotions that the Packers bring out of me, it was all good.  My heart was pounding through the fourth quarter as I was invested in this game!  I was also impressed that the refs let them play the game a bit and did not call any ticky-tack calls.  That is the way it should be come playoff time.  At the end of the day, I was very happy with the result, though my satellite decided to get janky on me during the last 90 seconds of the game.  I had to run and find my emergency portable TV to see the final field goal.  Talk about really getting the heart going!

At the wild card round, Robby Lee takes a solid lead with 122 points.  However, he had seven GB players on his roster.  To contend in this tournament, Robby will now need to root for some upsets, perhaps a Saints/Chargers Super Bowl to remain in the money.  In second place is Matthew Dzuck with 114 points.  He has also had a good weekend, but lost a few players as well.  A Saints/Chargers game would do him some good as well.  In third place is Adam Nelson with 98 points.  He would love for the Saints to make it as he has seven of them in his roster.

Good luck next weekend and get those fees in!

SDC/CIN Results

I had thought that rooting for a Vikings team with a bum of a QB was tough.  I cannot imagine being a Cincy fan who has a QB that is good enough to get his team into the playoffs, but can't do anything once he gets there.  Andy Dalton has made it to the playoffs in each of his three years, but just plays horribly once he gets there.  Today was no different as it was primarily his fault that they lost, outside of the Bernard fumble.  The San Diego win means that for the next week, we'll have to hear about how the Chargers beat the Broncos at home and how they might be able to do it again.  That will not be fun.  Personally, I still do not think the Chargers have any chance of winning.  On a side note, the funniest part of this game was the mass exodus leaving the stadium after that Ronnie Brown TD.  I did not know people could leave that quickly!  At 3:01 PM, the stadium was still full, Cincy still had the ball.  Brown scored at 3:04 PM.  At 3:06 PM, it looked like the vendors outnumbered those that remained!  The Metrodome never emptied that quickly...

After game number three this weekend, the top three teams remain the same in the same spot.  Matthew Dzuck stays in first with 92 points.  Robby Lee is in second with 78 points.  Adam Nelson remains in third place with 73 points.

Time to watch what should be the best game of the week!

NOS/PHI Results

Compared to the first game of the day, this game was fairly dull by comparison.  The first half was a real defensive struggle, which made me want to watch something else.  But, it started to pick up in the second half, especially after New Orleans lost one of their corners to yet another concussion, the theme of the day.  I was surprised on how good their defense actually was, and equally surprised at how much Foles stunk at home, especially with a +2 turnover advantage.  At the end of the day, the team I wanted to win, Philly, did not, but I suspect that New Orleans will not have an easy time in Seattle next week, regardless of what they learned the first time they received a beat down there.

After day one, Matthew Dzuck moves to first place with 87 points.  He did have five Philly players, so he took a hit, but this tournament is still in its infancy.  A majority of teams had at least two Philly players, so we all believed that the Saints were not going to win their first road playoff game ever tonight.  Robby Lee stays in second place with 77 points.  He has three Saints on his roster.  The winner last year, Adam Nelson, takes third place with 70 points, thanks primarily to the seven Saints on his team.  It is easy to see who he is wanting to go to the Super Bowl!

KCC/IND Results

Wow!  Talk about a tale of two halves.  I did not think that Andrew Luck would embody Frank Reich in this game and just go on a scoring tear like that.  I thought this game was over early in the two quarter.  But, nope!  I was also surprised that KC was able to hang in there with all of those injuries to their players.  But, the injuries took their toll, contributing to their loss.

After game one, John LeDoux takes the quick lead with 44 points.  He is the only person who chose Luck for his team and Luck paid off for him royally.  Most everyone else took TY Hilton who did not have a bad game himself.  In second place is Robby Lee, who chose three KC players, including the kicker who had 14 points.  He picks up 39 points, but is already down three guys. In third place is Matthew Dzuck with 34 points.  Matthew, like John, chose a single person differently for everyone else by picking up Dwayne Bowe, who finished with 14 points.  Matthew did take Jamaal Charles like everyone else, who put up a big, concussed goose egg.

If I have not done so yet, I will send you a copy of your roster and where you can send your money.  Double check it to ensure that it is accurate and let me know if it is not.  I was hoping that the new version of the Google form would allow you all to receive a copy of your roster submission automatically, but that functionality is only available with the enterprise version of Google.

Good luck all!
