The Standings have shifted dramatically after the Dallas/Philly game last night. This has been pretty common in past tournaments where the first-place team will sudden wind up in the middle of the standings after one game. Dan Elsenrath, who was in first place after the first game, is now in seventh place with 38 points after the second game. This is mainly because he only had three players playing: Miles Austin (7 points - 1 rec. TD [4]; 82 yards [3]), Roy Williams (2 points - 59 yards), and DeSean Jackson (4 points - 1 rec. TD).
The first place team belongs to Laura Phillip with 70 points. This is due to the six players she had going during the night game. Besides Jackson and Austin, Laura got points from Romo (17 points - 2 pass. TDs [8]; 244 yards [7]), the Dallas Kicker (10 points - 4 PATs, 2 FGs), and Dallas DST (4 sacks, 1 INT, 3 FR). With five Dallas players, she will need an upset against Minnesota to retain those players.
In second place is Khristin Sutton with 51 points. She is the only one who had the Swami hat on in regards to which Dallas RB she should take. Felix Jones had a 73 yard rushing TD; any offensive TD play that is over 50 yards gives that player double the points. Therefore, the 12 points Jones got with that TD, along with 148 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving, gave him 18 points.
There is a third-place tie between Ron Christensen and Will Rossing with 49 points. Ron benefited from two things. He benefited from the "Team QB" concept. So, when Michael Vick went under center and then threw a TD pass to Jeremy Maclin, Ron got those points. As well, that TD pass was over 50 yards, so Ron got double TD points. With McNabb's one TD pass and 306 combined passing yards from both QBs, Ron got 24 points from the Philly QB yesterday. Will got his points from the Dallas QB, DST, Jackson, and Westbrook (1 point - 27 yards).
There was one play that happened last night where I would like to explain the scoring. In the third quarter, Philly had the ball, McNabb threw an INT, Dallas then fumbled the ball and Philly recovered again. This is the exact play according to the
NFL Gamebook: "(5:22) (Shotgun) D.McNabb pass deep left intended for R.Brown INTERCEPTED by M.Jenkins at DAL 48. M.Jenkins to PHI 49 for 3 yards (D.Jackson). FUMBLES (D.Jackson), RECOVERED by PHI-R.Brown at DAL 47. R.Brown to DAL 47 for no gain (K.Hamlin)." One this play, the Dallas DST receives one point for the INT. As well, the Philly DST gets one point for the fumble recovery. Once Dallas intercepted the ball, the Philly offense turned into the defense in order to stop Dallas. Therefore, Reggie Brown was part of the Philly defense when he recovered the ball. So, those who has the PHI DST on their roster received one point. If Reggie Brown was owned on any teams, he would have not gotten any points. On page five of the Gamebook, under "Final Defensive Statistics," Reggie Brown is listed under Misc. defensive stats. He was a defensive player and we do not give out points for individual DST player performances.
Good luck this Sunday!
