Congrats Brady!

Congratulations to Brady Klejeski for winning this year's 3206... But for Football tournament! He had a solid lead going into the SB and also had the most remaining players. If certain players had done well and if Manning would have been the MVP, he would have been in second. Alas, that did not happen and Brady takes home first place and $140 in winnings, 70% of the pot. Brady finished with 493 points.

In second place, is Jason Davis with 471 points. He will be taking home 20% of the pot, or $40. He was rooting for Indy tonight, but they did not prevail. In third place is Robby Lee with 458 points. He can thank Joseph Addai for playing well as his TD and yards pushed him just far enough ahead to take third and 10% of the pot - $20.

Here are the final player stats of the SB:

Clark - 3 - 86 yds
DST IND - 1 - 1 sack
Addai - 11 - 77 rush. yds = 3; 1 rush. TD = 6; 58 rec. yds = 2
K IND - 5 - 2 PATs; 1 FG
Garcon - 6 - 1 rec. TD = 4; 66 rec yds = 2
QB IND - 17 - 1 pass. TD = 4; 333 pass. yds = 13
Wayne - 1 - 46 rec. yds

DST NOS - 10 - 1 INT; 1 50+ TD = 9
Shockey - 4 - 1 rec. TD
K NOS - 11 - 2 PATs; 3 FGs
Colston - 3 - 83 rec. yds
Thomas - 7 - 30 rush. yds = 1; 55 rec. yds. = 2; 1 rec. TD = 4
QB NOS - 26 - 2 pass. TD = 8; 1 2-pt. conversion; 288 pass. yds. = 11; MVP on roster = 5
Bush - 1 - 25 yds.
Meachem - 0 - 6 yds.

Thanks all for playing this year. Hopefully, some local teams that we love can make it to the big game next year. As well, I hope you all will come back and play again!

After the Colts Win...

With the Colts/Jets game in the books, Brady Klejeski takes the lead in the tournament with 323 points. He leads the field with 16 players remaining. Jason Davis takes over second place with 318 points. This is his first time to be in the top three. He'll need a Saints loss to remain in contention. Staying in third place is Rich Powell with 315 points. He is also rooting for a Saints loss as well.

Hmm..

Realized that my last post last week did not take. I'll just say that I was in first place with 272 points, Brady was second with 271 points, and Rich Powell came in third with 267 points. Since I have only one Saints player, I will drop from first for sure. More updates soon!

Go Vikes!

I did not expect the beating that the Vikings laid on the Cowboys, but that really helped out a number of teams. I did not expect the movement in the standings as what happened. Brady Klejeski moved into first place with 261 points. His weakness is that he does not have the SD QB, presuming that they will win. In second place is Jason Davis with 253 points. Angie Hochhalter, whom I thought would be in first place if Dallas would have shown up for the game, is in third place, one point behind, with 252 points. The first and second place teams prior to the game dropped to ninth and tenth respectively. I'll go into more detail after the next game is over (my daughter wants attention again).

Colts Win

The Colts beat out the Ravens yesterday; this enabled a number of teams to rush back up the standings. In first place is Robby Lee with 222 points. He was in third place after game one yesterday. Ray Rice gave him four more points with 67 rushing yards and 60 receiving yards. However, Robby had a slew of Indy players to help him take the lead - Manning (17 points - 2 pass. TDs [8]; 247 yards [9]); Wayne (6 points - 1 rec. TD [4]; 63 yards [2]); Garcon (1 point - 34 yards); the kicker (8 points - 2 PATs, 2 FGs); DST (5 points - 1 sack, 2 INTs, 2 FRs); and Addai (0 points). Unfortunately for Robby, he only has two players active in the first game today.

In second place is Ron Christensen with 219 points. He has every player Robby has minus Garcon. Like Robby, he comes into the first Sunday game with just two players. While Robby has Miles Austin, Ron has Barber who is banged up.

In third place is Angie Hochhalter with 200 points. She had the Indy kicker and Ray Rice, but also had Todd Heap who gave her an extra point with his 35 yards receiving. With eight players in the first game, I would expect her to be in first place by this afternoon.

Many teams have a lot of MN players on their rosters. Angie as well as Laura Phillip have more than two Dallas players. Therefore, a MN upset will help them greatly. As well, watch out for Charles and Tyree Johnson who both have 197 points and could easily move into the top three after this first game.

Saints Blowout

In my opinion, the Cardinals were not the better team in their previous week's match up. They showed how much they were not a playoff team with their loss to the Saints.

After the game, we have a new team in first place, Tyree Johnson, with 188 points. Although the AZ DST gave him zero points today, Beanie Wells gave him 6 points (1 rush. TD), Fitzgerald gave him 3 points (77 yards), and the two AZ QBs gave him over 250 yards passing for 10 points. On the Saints side, he got 12 points for the DST, thanks to Reggie Bush's TD (one 50+ return [9]; 1 FR; 1 INT; 1 sack). Remember, since Bush was on the special teams for one of his touchdowns, the DST gets credit. He does not individually get credit for both TDs, only one. On offense, Bush got 9 points (1 rush. TD; 84 yards [3]). Tyree also had Colston (7 points - 1 rec. TD [4]; 83 yards [3]), Brees (21 points - 3 pass. TDs [12]; 247 yards [9]), and Thomas (2 points - 52 rushing yards). Unfortunately for Tyree, he lost three more players and leads the tourney in players lost with 15.

In second place is Angie Hochhalter, just one point behind with 187 points. She was in second place after last week's games. She got her points from Wells, the Saints DST, QB, and K (9 points - 6 PATS and 1 FG). She lost only one player.

In third place, is Robby Lee with 181 points. He was among the leaders as well last week. He got his points from Fitzgerald, the Saints DST, Kicker, and Colston. He only lost one player as well.

Overall, a number of teams made moves with the number of Saints players on their teams. A Baltimore loss will hurt pretty much every team except for three - Tyree's, Angie's, and Khristin Sutton's team. They now know who to root for!

After The Sunday Thriller

There was more movement within the standings after the Wild Card round finished on Sunday. Laura retook the lead in the standings with 155 points. Rodgers cranked out 38 points with his arms and legs to help out (1 rush. TD [6]; 4 pass. TDs [16]; 422 yards [16]). Jennings (9 points - 1 rec. TD [4]; 130 yards [5]), Grant (2 points - 65 rush. yards), and Fitzgerald (11 points - 2 rec. TDs [8]; 82 yards [3]) also helped out in the cause. Through the weekend, she has lost 8 players which is four more than the minimum.

Angie Hochhalter continued her move up the standings with 139 points. She also had Rodgers and Grant, as well as Finley (6 points - 159 yards) and Wells (3 points - 91 yards). She has lost 9 players over the weekend.

Making his debut in the Top 3 is Robby Lee with 129 points. He did this by owning six Packer players: Rodgers, Grant, Finley, Driver (1 point - 43 yards), the kicker (9 points - 6 PATs and 1 FG), and Packer DST (2 points - 1 sack, 1 FR). Robby also has 19 players remaining.

The Packers loss did hurt a lot of owners' teams yesterday, but it has not knocked anyone out of contention. Upsets can still happen. For example, if Arizona defeats the Saints next week, there are five teams that will benefit greatly by owning more than one Arizona player on their roster. Plus, it will hurt the majority of the teams that had only one or two GB players, yet are stacked with Saints players. It should also be noted that the teams that were not really hurt by the Packers loss, also have a little ground to make up in the standings; less players = less points.

Overall, this is still an unpredictable tournament and I look forward to next week!

Quick Standings Update

After Game 3 of the Wild Card, Ron Christensen takes the lead with 103 points. Unfortunately, he had four Pats on his team. Laura remains strong in second place with 95 points. Angie Hochhalter moves up to third place with 90 points. A more comprehensive recap will come later. Right now is family time!

After Saturday - Wild Card

The Standings have shifted dramatically after the Dallas/Philly game last night. This has been pretty common in past tournaments where the first-place team will sudden wind up in the middle of the standings after one game. Dan Elsenrath, who was in first place after the first game, is now in seventh place with 38 points after the second game. This is mainly because he only had three players playing: Miles Austin (7 points - 1 rec. TD [4]; 82 yards [3]), Roy Williams (2 points - 59 yards), and DeSean Jackson (4 points - 1 rec. TD).

The first place team belongs to Laura Phillip with 70 points. This is due to the six players she had going during the night game. Besides Jackson and Austin, Laura got points from Romo (17 points - 2 pass. TDs [8]; 244 yards [7]), the Dallas Kicker (10 points - 4 PATs, 2 FGs), and Dallas DST (4 sacks, 1 INT, 3 FR). With five Dallas players, she will need an upset against Minnesota to retain those players.

In second place is Khristin Sutton with 51 points. She is the only one who had the Swami hat on in regards to which Dallas RB she should take. Felix Jones had a 73 yard rushing TD; any offensive TD play that is over 50 yards gives that player double the points. Therefore, the 12 points Jones got with that TD, along with 148 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving, gave him 18 points.

There is a third-place tie between Ron Christensen and Will Rossing with 49 points. Ron benefited from two things. He benefited from the "Team QB" concept. So, when Michael Vick went under center and then threw a TD pass to Jeremy Maclin, Ron got those points. As well, that TD pass was over 50 yards, so Ron got double TD points. With McNabb's one TD pass and 306 combined passing yards from both QBs, Ron got 24 points from the Philly QB yesterday. Will got his points from the Dallas QB, DST, Jackson, and Westbrook (1 point - 27 yards).

There was one play that happened last night where I would like to explain the scoring. In the third quarter, Philly had the ball, McNabb threw an INT, Dallas then fumbled the ball and Philly recovered again. This is the exact play according to the NFL Gamebook: "(5:22) (Shotgun) D.McNabb pass deep left intended for R.Brown INTERCEPTED by M.Jenkins at DAL 48. M.Jenkins to PHI 49 for 3 yards (D.Jackson). FUMBLES (D.Jackson), RECOVERED by PHI-R.Brown at DAL 47. R.Brown to DAL 47 for no gain (K.Hamlin)." One this play, the Dallas DST receives one point for the INT. As well, the Philly DST gets one point for the fumble recovery. Once Dallas intercepted the ball, the Philly offense turned into the defense in order to stop Dallas. Therefore, Reggie Brown was part of the Philly defense when he recovered the ball. So, those who has the PHI DST on their roster received one point. If Reggie Brown was owned on any teams, he would have not gotten any points. On page five of the Gamebook, under "Final Defensive Statistics," Reggie Brown is listed under Misc. defensive stats. He was a defensive player and we do not give out points for individual DST player performances.

Good luck this Sunday!

The Site is Up!

I have added the rosters to the tourney site, http://3206.benphillip.com/. It is up to date as of the end of the first game. As teams lose in the playoffs, the respective players will be grayed out. Each roster will reflect this as well as have a running tally of remaining players.

There are 20 teams playing this season. Therefore the entire pot will be $200. So first place will take home $140. Second place will take $40. Third place will double up their entry fee to $20.

As of the end of the first playoff game between Cincy and the Jets, Dan Elsenrath is first place by one point with 25 points thanks to Cedric Benson (12 points - 1 rush TD [6]; 169 yards [6]), Ochocinco (1 point - 28 yards), Laveranues Coles (5 points - 1 rec. TD [4]; 48 yards [1]), and Thomas Jones (7 points - 1 rush TD [6]; 34 yards [1]). Therefore, Dan lost three players after game one. Laura Phillip, Robby Lee, and myself are currently tied for second with 24 points. Laura had Jones, Benson, and Coles, so she lost two players. Robby and I both had Benson, Jones, and the Jets DST (3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FR), so we only lost one player. Khristin Sutton is alone in third with 20 points because of Benson, Ochocinco, and Jones. A boatload of folks are tied with 19 points in fourth place.

No one had Shone Green who would have picked up 11 points. Dustin Keller would have been a good choice too with 7 points.

The site will be updated soon after every game. So, expect another update after the Dallas/Philly game.
